Dogs - Training & Behaivior Training your dog will be a huge part of your interaction with him for the first few months. This includes housetraining, leash training, obedience training, socialization, and problem solving. In addition to providing your dog with needed skills, this time will also be a great opportunity for you to bond with him. Take the time to really get to know your pet while training him and a loving relationship will easily develop.

Here is some information to help you get started:

Teaching your dog to control when and where he relieves himself can be challenging, but with a little information (and a lot of dedication and patience!), your dog will be trained in no time!

Leash Training
Taking a puppy for a walk is a much easier task when he knows how to walk on a lead. Learn about leash training as well as how to choose an appropriate leash.

Obedience Training
The four basic obedience commands are Sit, Down, Stay, and Come. Teach your dog these commands early on, and your relationship will flourish.

Introducing your dog to all different kinds of sights, smells, and sounds will help him to be comfortable no matter what the situation.

Problem Solving
Sometimes dogs develop problem behaviors, such as chewing, digging, excessive barking, or jumping up, that need special attention. Learn how to spot these tendencies and get your dog back on his best behavior.
