Handling

Handling of Crested Gecko

Crested geckos are fairly docile and do not usually bite, but they are unpredictable creatures. One may sit quietly in your hand for several minutes and then suddenly jump off and be out of sight before you have even realized what happened. In general, crested geckos are best observed in their cage, but if you must handle them, do so with great care. Their tails break off very easily and do not grow back, and they are easily stressed, which can quickly lead to a decline in health.
